In January last, as may be seen by my Medical Certificate, I was duly seized with Paralysis, which entirely deprived me of the use of my Right side. Immediately on my convalescence, at the recommendation of the Colonial Surgeon of Hongkong, I made an application to the Government for Eighteen month's leave of absence to proceed to England for the purpose of recovering my health, which was granted.
Being unable myself to find the necessary funds for the payment of my Passage to England, it was my intention to have proceeded to Peru in South America, where I had both friends...
